We’d like to begin by giving a big shout out to everyone who has joined us for our Treasure Tuesdays beach cleanups! When we first started brainstorming ways to give back to our local community on a weekly basis. We had no idea the Crew would grow so large and would end up covering the entire peninsula from River Jetties all the way to Wedge in just a few short months. The voyage has been chock-full of good vibes, good times, even better company, and TONS of sunken treasures!
Here’s a little recap of what went down as we reached our final destination at Wedge for this week’s Treasure Tuesdays beach cleanup.
Under cloudy skies we cruised up to C Street, eager to begin the search for sunken treasure. As we scoped out the scenery, we were shocked by how very little treasure could be seen by the naked eye at first glance. Never the less, we hit the sand with bags in hand and the voyage was underway.
While cruising and perusing the sand, our previous thoughts that there wasn’t going to be very much treasure quickly changed. As treasures of all shapes and sizes were discovered, and bags began to reach the brim. It’s always funny to think about what the rare treasure of the day will be before these cleanups, it keeps the excitement level up. On this particular Tuesday, the Captain snagged the rare treasure of the day award with the discovery of his new peg leg (really a leg from a piece of furniture, but we like it more as a peg leg) that lie buried in the sand.
Here are a few photos of other rare treasures of the day that have been found over the past few months:
Both the time and the sand beneath our feet flew by as we scoured the beach high and low looking for treasure. Before we knew it we had arrived at our final destination at Wedge, and officially declared victory!
Looking back on the past few months, it’s amazing to think about how many countless pounds of treasure were found along the way, and what other treasure may be in our future. Even though summer has come to a close and so have our beach cleanups, Treasure Tuesdays will keep on rockin’ every Tuesday. We just have to come up with fresh new ideas on how to give back to our local community, so we’d love to hear any ideas you guys might have for us!

***Once again, we would like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone that has helped us in tidying up the peninsula.
