Since this past weekend was filled with epic weather, warm water, summertime vibes and insane amounts of people on the beach. The Ark Crew had a feeling our hands were going to be full during Treasure Tuesdays this week. And with the 4th of July only a few days away, we made it out goal to take preemptive measures and give our beaches an extra bit of tidying up in preparation for America’s favorite holiday.
After dealing with the scorching temps at Ark HQ all day it’s safe to say The Ark Crew was looking forward to getting out of the office and onto the beach. Just as soon as we were able to lock up the car, our feet were hitting the still somewhat warm sand on 36th street. We noticed there was a fun little swell running and the lineup was jam-packed with people as far as the eye could see. Thankfully we had set a predetermined course before getting to the beach this week and The Ark Crew embarked on their voyage to find sunken treasure without getting sidetracked by watching the waves.
As we casually strolled south chatting about our big plans for the upcoming holiday weekend treasures of all shapes and sizes appeared before our eyes. For some reason or another it looked like people decided to have a McDonalds apple pie and Capri Sun party on the sand this week; which we promptly cleaned up the aftermath of and continued trekking down the beach. Per usual, treasures like water bottles, plastic beach toys and even the standard pair of sandals were also wrangled from the sand and put in our treasure sacks.
This week our bags started to bulge and reach the brim much quicker than they usually do, and we began to wonder… If there’s this much treasure on the beach the week before the 4th of July, what is this place going to look like after the 4th? Once we rounded the 28th street tower The Ark Crew agreed to call it a success and head home for the day.
