Way to go Steve!!!! We’d like to throw a MASSIVE shout out to Ark Crew member Steve Garufi for successfully completing his Bike Across America voyage this past Wednesday, April 6th when he reached the beach in St. Simons Island, Georgia- having covered 2,500 miles of pavement in the process.
Not only did Steve travel across the US for the second time, but he also raised $3160 dollars that will benefit the Smile for a Lifetime foundation. One of the major motivating factors behind Steve’s ride was to raise awareness for the non-profit foundation, which helps provide funding for children who come from low-income families that would otherwise not be able to afford the proper orthodontic work they deserve. So as Steve was making his way across the country, one peddle at a time, he was doing it for the kids. Which we think is super rad.
It’s definitely NO small feat to be out on the road (literally) for 6 full weeks, venturing through all different types of terrain and facing some less than ideal weather conditions. However, Steve kept the kids in mind, faced the challenge head on, and remained steadfast too his plan. So we’re guessing that right about now, Steve must be pretty exhausted and excited to finally be heading back to his home in Colorado. But before he puts the final stamp of approval on the trip and returns to Colorado, he’s going to enjoy some much-needed R&R in California. Then declare victory and setup shop again at his humble abode in the Rockies.
So from everyone in the Ark Collective community: CONGRATULATIONS ON COMPLETING THE VOYAGE STEVE!
