Mode of Self Expression: Couture Artist;Luxury Leather Goods/Exotic Skins
Ark: Hey Logan. Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions. Could you begin by please telling us about yourself?
Logan: Sure. Well, my name is Logan Real; FYI: that’s my REAL name. Its not fake; most people think its fake. Just turned 28 years old. Born and raised in Miami. Self-taught artist. I consider myself a Couture Artist; one-of-a-kind, high-end pieces. My specialization is painting elegant designs on Luxury Leather Goods and Exotic Skins.
Ark: Let’s talk about creativity and inspiration for a moment. Whether it’s in your personal life or in your art, where do you usually look to for inspiration?
Logan: Honestly, when it comes to my lifestyle and my artwork, my inspiration is driven within. Collectively organzing and balancing my raw emotions through clarity;internal feelings. I’m a firm believer in the BASICS in life. My artwork is about bringing basic, honest moments/emotions, to a clear artitic form (non-objective). I’m very inspired by natural elements like nature and life, in general. I enjoy interior design, arch., fashion, and many other design industries.
Ark: Who have been a few of your favorite artists you have looked up to over the years?
Logan: I’m a Huge fan of non-objective artists like Kandinsky and Rudolf Bauer. The fact that they understood and could express their honest, internal emotions, without painting society driven forms, is very inspiring. I admire anyone, not just artists, who are bold enough to truley express their honest thoughts.
Ark: At what age did you first start getting serious about your art, and realized that you wanted to turn your passion for art into a career?
Logan: like I mentioned earlier, I’m a self-taught artist. I actually started painting my junior year in college (2005). Started painting on sneakers and then has progressed to all forms of luxury leather goods. The Goal is to become a Global Luxury Empire (LOGAN REAL); textiles, leather goods, footwear, furniture, fabrics, etc.
Ark: What do you like most about being a member of the Miami art community?
Logan: I was born and raised in Miami. Miami is where I started my career as an artist and started receiving recognition in the fashion/art industry. But, I do not live in Miami anymore. I currently live in Dallas. I’ve found that NYC and LA embrace my work the most. Dallas is a good middle ground for me. Plus, its very calm in Dallas and that has been great for me as an artist who aspires to progress constantly. I’m painting on another level since I’ve been out here.
Ark: Your signature stained glass art style is awesome! What inspired you to start decking out sneakers and watch bands with this type of art?
Logan: well, its hard for me to explain, but, I see shapes, colors, angles, and such. I can’t paint portraits or figurative. And because I embrace the basics and natural elements in life, I’ve always thought tiles and stained glass, portray elegance. My signature stained glass design is the foundation for my style and for my brand, Logan Real. I also do it completely free-hand. I don’t sketch or stencil my signature work. Its completely in the moment. I’m constantly organizing shapes, angles, forms, and colors in my mind on a daily basis. When I feel confident/comfortable, I then paint my clarity.
Ark: What is the strangest, most memorable, funny, awkward… (fill in the blank) encounter you’ve had over the years with your art?
Logan: probably recently. Some blogger wrote a story on me and talked about how to copy my style. I thought that was funny because my lifestyle and my artwork is about self-expression; meaning and purpose. And for someone to try and copy my work without even understanding my purpose, is both funny and ignorant. People need to walk their own path and express themselves in their own way, instead of being robots.
Ark: Alright, now it’s time for the “lightning round.” If you could answer as quickly as possible we’d appreciate it!

Logan: I think yóu can expect to see my artwork and brand, really progress and expand this year. Artist/brand collaborations and very unique product creations.
Ark: How else do you like to spend your free time besides creating art?
Logan: I like to cook. Learning now how to garden and grow fresh herbs/vegatables. I exercise a lot and listen to a lot of music. Most importantly, being at peace and finding as much clarity as possible. The more clarity, the more creative I become. Constant progression and evolving.
