Whether she is trekking through the streets of Manhattan or the mountains of Peru, Ari Mo’s dynamic ability to capture the moment through a lens is one of a kind. Ari’s warm heart and eclectic style are just a few things that make her an awesome person and a captivating photographer. We are stoked to have her as an addition to our Weekly Feature Series. Here is a casual little Q&A we did with Ari:
Place of Residence: I am a drifter between Newport Beach and New York
Current Jam: Kid Cudi- Story of My Life
Favorite Food: Persian and Thai
Ark: What and/or where are some of the things you draw inspiration from?
Ari: I draw inspiration from my surroundings and the people in the cities I shoot. I love catching the seconds between shots on camera.
Ark: What is your favorite medium to use when shooting photos?
Ari: I love natural light as much as possible.
Ark: What is your favorite type of shot to compose?
Ari: I love taking landscape shots because the possibilities are endless, from the ripple of a wave to the silhouette of a bird flying through a sunset.
Ark: Tell us about your most memorable, funny, awkward, … (fill in the blank) encounter/moment you have had over time while shooting pictures.
Ari: I remember a shoot I did of my sister in Central Park, it was during recess for a few of the schools in the area and the kids followed us around the park because they thought she was a Disney Channel TV star. Needless to say, they were let down.
Ark: If you had to pick one for the rest of eternity film or digital?
Ari: Digital, there’s something to be said for being able to manipulate a photo and seeing the instantaneous results.
Ark: What are some of the hobbies you’re into other than shooting photos?
Ari: I love to cook and have taken many culinary classes to fuel that passion, I am currently learning to play the guitar.
Ark: Any last words ???:
Ari: There is always time to do what you love.
