This past Saturday night we had the opportunity to participate in the opening of the Urban • Modern exhibition at The ARTery in Costa Mesa. Someone used a little out of the box thinking (which we dig) and transformed two steel shipping containers into an art gallery. So- our hats are off to whoever designed the space and also to the lovely Roxy Vosough for curating the event.
Throughout the course of the evening the positive vibes were flowing and the tunes were rockin’! Live performances by Audrey and the Deer as well as Goldenspell set the mood just right and the attendees were in high spirits about the artwork on display. Artists Pinky Taylor, Ryan Clemens, and Jeff Tang (of 12FV) all had really fresh, creative pieces on exhibit and we were fortunate to have a few Vinchees in the mix as well.
One definite highlight of the night was the event’s turnout despite the palatial hail storms Mother Nature unleashed on us for a while. It was great to see that the subpar weather conditions didn’t phase the exhibit-goers one bit and that everyone still had an awesome time.
We’d like to give a BIG shout out to everyone who came to the opening, supported the artists, and joined in making the evening a huge success. Art just wouldn’t be as special without people to see and appreciate the fruits of these artists’ labor- so thank you. All of us at Ark are pumped on how the show turned out and we can’t wait to be part of the next show.
If any of you may be interested in checking out the exhibit let us know. The work will be on display till March 12th.
Until next time, check out a few photos from the evening!
