With the absolutely amazing weather we’ve had over the past few days, it seems as if Mother Nature has blessed us with a quick little glimpse of Summer. We don’t know about you guys, but we can’t remember the last time there was 70 degree + weather in January. So as this Tuesday afternoon crept up on us and it was time to get involved for a Treasure Tuesdays session. We decided it would be best to enjoy the great outdoors by tidying up the shores.
The sun was shining, the weather was great and the waves were pumping as the Crew headed onto the beach at 56th street. Getting our feet back in the warm sand reminded us of our summer session beach cleanups, and all the fun times that happened along the way. This week we had a few new members join us for their first beach cleanup, and they were shocked to see the abundant amount of trash that lay littering the beach. However, they were amped to help clean the beaches that we all love so much.
While heading south, perusing the shore on “the search”, there were tons of sunken treasures in all shapes and sizes to be found (looks like Mother Nature missed us a bit…). During this Treasure Tuesdays session, a new record was set that we personally think will be hard to beat: there were 4 different pairs of sandals salvaged from the sand. Looks like even though the seasons have changed, peoples’ habits of abandoning their sandals on the beach haven’t.
As the sun began to sink on the horizon and our bags bulged with newly discovered sunken treasure, the Crew decided it was time to call it a day at 42nd street. We definitely soaked up our fair share of cosmic rays and enjoyed the EPIC January weather. All in all- it was an AWESOME Treasure Tuesdays session!
