With the seasons turning quicker than a tire during a Nascar race, things are starting to get a little brisk outside. We’re stoked that Mammoth has received its first few snow flurries. Especially because only a couple weeks have passed by since we conquered our summer goal of cleaning up the sands across Newport Beach.
Its with great pleasure that we announce that Treasure Tuesdays is back in action! We’ve kicked things back off by starting the new semester in the classrooms of the Someone Cares Soup Kitchen in Costa Mesa. The Someone Cares Soup Kitchen puts on an awesome after school program during the weekdays to lend students a helping hand with their homework after class.
Upon arrival, we were stoked to see that we would be helping these students out firsthand with their homework. Our new friends were super appreciative of the help we were giving them, and got extra stoked when they were rewarded with a high five and a smile.
As it turned out, we couldn’t help but laugh at ourselves when we realized some of the material we would be helping them with, resulted in a little brain scratching on our part (thank you 3G service). With a little help from our trusty Blackberries we were instantly able to tackle a couple fuzzy spots we had forgotten since our days of sloppy joes and silly bandz. All in all it was cool to help out our young new friends out with their reading, writing, and math homework.
Going forward we expect to get involved with various new Treasure Tuesday activities, if you may have any suggestions make sure to send us your thoughts!
Stay tuned for next weeks activity. We hope to see you there!
